1 dacoit was killed while other was injured in an exchange of fire with police during checking in PS Tarnol area, Islamabad. According to Police officials, Islamabad Police were on a routine checking against criminal elements in Sector E-16, PS Tarnol, Islamabad.
During checking, local police signaled a Honda car to stop but they tried to escape instead of stopping. Police followed the vehicle and when tried to stop the car, four persons sitting in the car opened unprovoked fire on police.
Due to precautionary measures, police men remained safe, however, 1 dacoit was killed while one was arrested in injured condition.
Police informed that dacoit killed has been identified as Amir Shahzar alias “Choha”, whereas injured one is identified as Rashid Ellahi who has already gone to jail 22 times in 13 cases of different robberies in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sargodha and Khushab cities.
This notorious gang of criminals was already wanted by Islamabad Police in several incidents of identical nature where dacoits robbed many houses on gunpoint.
