A leopard attacked and wounded three people, including a woman school teacher, when it strayed into a locality in Sarai, a suburban town of Hatyan Bala, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), media reported on Tuesday.
As per media report, Panicked by the presence of a wild beast in their midst, the locals started looking for the Wildlife Department officials, who, sadly, were not there. Resultantly, they had to call Rescue 1122 personnel who rushed to the spot and treated those injured by the leopard.
The Rescue personnel were still in the town till the filing of this report to give a sense of protection to the terrified people.
It is worth mentioning here that cheetahs and other wild animals roam freely in different areas of Hatyan Bala, including Sarai and surrounding towns and villages, but the wildlife officials have never bothered to come to their rescue.
