An Extension Lecture on Gharoli of Sachal Sarmast was organized by the Sachal Chair Shah Abdul Latif University Khairpur at Allama I.I Kazi Hall. Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto, Vice Chancellor presided over the Lecturer.
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that Sachal Sarmast’s poetry is a source of guidance and enlightenment for humanity, which reflects the teachings of Truth. He said that the message of Sachal Sarmast is a message of peace which would lead to of peace, unity and awareness about tawasuf in the society. Dr. Khalil Ahmed Ibupoto said that all the research chairs of University would be streamlined on modern lines so the research process would be expedited, and in this regard PC-1 has been sent to the Sindh Government, hopefully the same will be approved soon. He announced that Sachal Sarmast’s magazine based on Sachal Sarmast’s poetry would be published by Sachal Chair.
While delivering a keynote lecture, renowned poet and singer Mr. Akhtar Dargahi said that Gharoli is Seraiki poetry of Sachal Sarmast which is quite a sort of Sindhi and Seraiki poetry. This poetry of Sachal Sarmast is considered as an important source to reach true love and spiritual destination. In these verses Sachal Sarmast has expressed the spirit of devotion to Ahl-e-Bait and Sahaba Karam.
Earlier, Director Sachal Chair Dr. Mahar Khadim welcomed all the guests and participants in the lecture. He said that research work on teaching and philosophy of Sachal Sarmast is underway. 36 books have been published by the Chair to date.
Prof. Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Mashori, Dean Faculty of Arts & Languages, Dr. Allah Wasayo Soomro, Prof. Ghulam Qadir Phulpoto, Prof. Zahida Parveen Mari, Mr. Qurban Mangi, Mr. Khawand Dino Larik, Mr.Amar Iqbal, Mr. Naseer Shaikh, Mr.Sajjad Mirani, Mr. Anwar Pardesi, Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Soomro, Ms. Nisha Kanwal, literary personalities, teachers, scholars and large number of students attended the lecture program.
