ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) senator Raza Rabbani said Friday that Balochistan’s concerns were not only the security and developmental projects, rather a comprehensive dialogue was due on province’s situation. Addressing the Senate’s session on Friday, the PPP senator said that Balochistan’s basic issue was the non-fulfillment of basic rights of the Baloch people. “Missing persons’ issue can never be solved without greeting their families” he said. “Non-identical statements of Prime Minister and Foreign Minister are published by newspapers on same foreign policy issue” he said, adding that elected government were allegedly being ‘dictated’ on foreign policy.
He said that state’s inclination was towards United States from the very first day. Pakistan became part of agreements like SEATO and CENTO. “Pakistan has been sold for ‘gunman-ship’. An elected Prime Minister was murdered by extremist forces at the stance of capitalist America” he added.
PPP’s Senator Saleem Mandwiwala demanded government to withdraw recent increment in power tariffs and said that the increment would put a burden of 292 billion rupees on people. “People are already in miserable condition. They will not be able to bear anymore” he added.
Senator Manzoor Kakar said that his party always talked of Baloch people and their basic human rights. “Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) has been an ally of government for three and a half years and it will remain an ally” he said. He said that people of Balochistan were ‘sidelined’ by the state and they were deprived of their basic human rights.
