Senior journalist and analyst Mohsin Baig was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency’s cyber wing and police here Wednesday
Mohsin Jamil Baig was arrested during a raid conducted at his residence by FIA cyber crime wing team in Islamabad early in the morning on Wednesday.
On resistance, Mohsin Jamil Baig was subjected to severe violence .Later he was arrested and shifted to police station Margalla.
Hamza Baig son of Mohsin Jamil Baig while making confirmation of the arrest of his father said some persons in plain clothes trespassed the boundary wall and entered into the house early in the morning. “we thought they are thieves and robbers. Later we came to know FIA personnel have entered into the house. SSP Islamabad was also with them”, he said.
He further stated FIA personnel harassed, thrashed and subjected Mohsin Jamil Baig and his children who were present in the house to violence.
Denouncing the arrest of renowned journalist and analyst Mohsin Jamil Baig in strong terms , PDM spokesperson Hafiz Hamdullah said that conducting raid on house is trampling and violating sanctity of Chadar and chardevari.
He held violence against Mohsin Baig is violence against journalism.
Criticizing the government policies is offence of Mohsin Jamil Baig, he said adding he is being punished for speaking truth. Arresting without arrest warrants is insult of the law at the hands of chowkidars of law.
He underlined neither democracy is in place in the country nor any democratic government is therein.
He alleged Imran Khan is subjecting his opponents to violence , revenge and political victimization.
He underscored Imran Khan has been proved Hitlar of today. PDM strongly demands that Mohsin Jamil Baig be released forthwith, he held.
