Efforts are being made to facilitate women: Mahmood Jan

Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mahmood Jan has said that all efforts are being made to provide all possible facilities to women.
These views were expressed by Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Mahmood Jan while presiding over a meeting organized by Omar Asghar Foundation and Shirkat Gah at a private hotel in Islamabad.
Chairperson Women Parliamentary Caucus Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly MPA Dr. Sumera Shams, Senior Vice Chairperson Rehana Ismail, Vice Chairperson Madiha Nisar, MPA Shagufta Malik, Asiya Khattak, Shahida Waheed, Zeenat BiBi , Rabia Basri, Ayesha Naeem, Sitara Afreen, Naeema Kishore, Sajida Hanif, Sobia Khan, Sumaya Bibi and senior officials participated.
MPA and Chairperson Women Parliamentary Caucus Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Dr. Sumera Shams said that as many things as can be passed in favor of gender responsive budget to empower women, we will try to give women the best historic budget this year. “We are enacting legislation for women (zero hunger), good health, quality of education, peace and justice, reduction of poverty, inequality and reduction of human rights violations,”. she said we have completed most of the legislation in this regard.
Dr. Sumera Shams said that more money would be proposed in the budget to improve Darulaman conditions so that women survivors of gender based violence could have access to safe haven, skills and reintegrate into society.
She said that working women hostels would be set up in every district. The Office of the Ombudsperson, Child Welfare and Protection Commission KP will be further strengthened and they will be provided with the things and support they need.
On the occasion, members of the Women Parliamentary Caucus Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly said that we are also making good laws for the minorities.
Members of Women Parliamentary Caucus said that Darulaman was established in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the welfare of women. We can proudly say that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is the only province in Pakistan where work has been done to curb trafficking of women.
“For the betterment of women, we will strive this year to ensure best gender responsive budget and allocate money for various purposes of women,” they said. They said in order to empower women, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women Parliamentary Caucus has allocated Rs. 1 billion for empowerment of women in this fiscal year’s KP budget which is a great achievement of our government. They said that Darulaman would be built in every district and women in Darulaman would be imparted skills on a broad basis so that they could benefit from it.
