Health science institute in Islamabad a revolutionary step, VC KMU

The Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar Dr Zia ul Haq said that with the establishment of the KMU-Institute of Health Sciences in Islamabad will facilitate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) living the federal capital, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
He was addressing as chief guest to the orientation ceremony of the newly admitted students at KMU-HIS, Islamabad.
Besides faculty and admin staff among others present on the occasion were dean allied health sciences and director IHS Islamabad Dr Haider Darin and of the vice chancellor Dr Zia ul Haq.
Dr Zia ul Haq said that it is an honor for all of us that today we are launching classes at the new campus of KMU in the federal capital territory of Islamabad.
He said that with the establishment of this new campus, KMU has become the first university in KP to set up its campus in the federal capital.
The establishment of this campus, students will have the opportunity to get higher education at their doorstep in Bachelor’s programs like nursing, DPT, public health and allied health sciences.
KMU has established nursing, DPT and allied health sciences institutes in seven districts of the province including Swat, Dir Lower, Swabi, Mardan, Kohat, Lakki Marwat and Kurram (ParaChinar) during the last one year.
Dr Haider Darin, dean, allied health sciences and director, Institute of Health Sciences, Islamabad also spoke on the occasion and apprised the new entrants about the importance and utility of their programs
