KHYBER: Sixteen trucks of Ramadan package comprising edibles, winter package and dry milk for children were donated to Amarat-e-Islam, Afghanistan by Al-Khedmat Foundation, Pakistan here at Pak-Afghan sharing border, Torkham on Wednesday. In this connection a gathering was organized that was attended by vice-President of Al-Khedmat, Khyber Pakhtunnkhwa Fida Muhammad Khan, media manager Noorul Wahid Jadoon, Muhammad Waseem, local volunteers of the Foundation and border security officials. In-charge for refugees in Afghanistan Maulvi Faiz Muhammad,Qari Bilal ,as representatives of Afghan government joined the moot. Speaking on the occasion Fida Muhammad Khan said that the Ramadan package has been granted to the Afghan people, aiming to assist them in the holy month of Ramadan. He urged the international community and the philanthropists to come forward and help their Afghan brothers and sisters in this time of need. Maulvi Faiz Muhammad on behalf of Afghan government received the package and thanked for the generous help and said that hundreds of thousands children face shortage of food that needs to be addressed forthwith. He flayed Western world for its role of silent spectators towards Afghanistan and said it is injustice that all of the assets of Afghanistan have been freezed that has multiplied their problems. It is worth mentioning here that Al-Khedmat Foundation, Pakistan with collaboration of Pak-Afghan Cooperation Forum has given away 1200 tons of donations to the deserving people in Kunar,Paktia,Nangarhar,Kabul,Helmand, Kandahar and other provinces of Afghanistan.
