Pakistan’s former ambassador to the India Abdul Basit said Friday the narrative built by Prime Minister Imran Khan may hurt Pakistan’s relationship with the US, adding that PM’s move to present alleged foreign letter before the National Security Committee (NSC) was a ‘wise move’. Talking to a private news channel, Basit said however there was no resemblance between the official statement of NSC and PM Imran’s Thursday speech. “There should have been an analogy between NSC’s stance and PM’s speech, which is lacking,” he told the news channel.
Basit said PM Imran’s Thursday speech was a ‘political’ one. He said PM Imran was aware of the forthcoming, and hence is building momentum for coming general elections, he added.
