AC Dera to ensure availability of food items in Sasta Bazaar

Assistant Commissioner Dera Nadir Shehzad Khan Sunday said that the supply of cheap and quality goods to the people during Ramadan is being ensured in all cases and stern action would be taken against those overcharging.
Talking to media during his visit to Sasta Bazaar, Nadir Shehzad said that no concession will be given to those who sell more than the fixed rates. “We will ensure full implementation of the fixed rates,” he said.
He said that the month of Ramadan is a month of worship. It is the month of Ramadan as a Muslim it is our duty to provide low profit and facilities to others, he said. It is also a stepping stone to success in the hereafter, he said.
He said that during Ramadan, the administration is issuing rates on a daily basis and strict checking is also being done on a daily basis and to sell anything to anyone above the prescribed rates, action would be taken immediately by imposing heavy fines or sending them to jail or both.
He said, poultry, vegetables, fruits, milk, bakers, meat and other food items will not be allowed to sell on other than the fixed rates issued by the district administration. Regular checking of prices is underway and rates of other items are also being checked during Ramadan, Nadir Shehzad said.
He directed the representatives of traders to ensure implementation of fixed rates and appealed to the people to inform the officials if any one was charging higher than the fixed rates. The management should be informed immediately so that timely action can be taken, he said.
