Bilawal, Nawaz renew resolve to continue concerted efforts to strengthen democracy

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called upon former PM Nawaz Sharif in London.
During the meeting, the duo deliberated upon the overall political situation in the country. Bilawal Bhutto congratulated Nawaz Sharif on replacing a ‘selected premier’ with an elected PM and upholding the supremacy of the constitution and democracy.
Key PPP figures, including Sherry Rehman, Naveed Qamar, and Qamar Zaman Kaira, accompanied the party chief. The leadership of PPP and PML-N reiterated their resolve to continue concerted efforts to strengthen democracy and uphold the supremacy of the constitution.
Bilawal congratulated Nawaz Sharif on the success of the no-confidence motion and toppling of the selected government and the election of the Prime Minister and Chief Minister of Punjab.
Overall political situation of the country was also discussed in the meeting while the PPP chairman and the PML-N supremo also expressed their determination to work together in national political affairs with understanding and consensus.
The PPP chairman went on to say that the role of Nawaz Sharif for democracy is unparalleled and under the Charter of Democracy, Pakistan was moving in the right direction. We have once again put Pakistan towards the restoration of democracy, he said.
On his arrival, Nawaz sons Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz welcomed Bilawal Bhutto. Former finance minister Ishaq Dar was also present. Bilawal Bhutto told the media that the political parties joined hands for the cause and such a union can cope with the challenges being faced by the country.
He said: “I can see that we can fight for the survival of democracy. We have fought for the survival of the constitution and democracy in the past too. “It was a conspiracy of Bilawal House, not of the United States. “We can also see the restoration of democracy and constitution in Pakistan.”
