Peshawar defeated KP Stars by seven wickets in the second match of the first phase of the ICRC National Physical Disability Cricket Championship, securing a place in the semi-finals.
The national-level event, held at Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, Peshawar, witnessed an outstanding display of talent, determination, courage and sportsmanship by physically challenged cricketers.
Peshawar delivered an exceptional performance throughout the match. Batting first, KP Stars were bowled out for just 52 runs. Peshawar’s bowlers displayed excellent bowling skills and an effective strategy, preventing the opposition from posting a competitive total. In response, Peshawar comfortably chased down the target, securing a convincing seven-wicket victory. With this impressive win, Peshawar confirmed its place in the semi-finals.
The role of the Peshawar team’s management was also instrumental in achieving this success. Team Manager Ashiq Hussain worked tirelessly to ensure the players’ preparation, team organization, administrative arrangements and effective guidance throughout the competition.
Similarly, Team Coordinator Sajid Mahmood Khan played a significant role in coordination, addressing players’ concerns and managing the overall affairs of the team. Their mutual understanding, teamwork and continuous efforts contributed significantly to enhancing the team’s performance.
On this occasion, Peshawar team manager Ashiq Hussain expressed his special gratitude to Ameer-ud-Din Ansari, General Secretary of the Pakistan Physical Disability Cricket Association, stating that words were insufficient to fully acknowledge his services, dedication and hard work.
He said that organizing such a large-scale national event within a very short period and despite limited resources was undoubtedly a highly commendable achievement. He further appreciated the commitment, hard work and exceptional administrative abilities demonstrated by Ameer-ud-Din Ansari in making the championship possible.
He added that, on behalf of himself, Team Coordinator Sajid Mahmood Khan and the entire Peshawar team, he wished to extend heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to Ameer-ud-Din Ansari for providing specially-abled cricketers with such an excellent national-level platform to showcase their abilities.
He emphasized that events of this nature not only encourage players but also provide them with opportunities to establish their identity in society and bring pride and recognition to the country.
The primary objective of organizing the championship is to provide equal sporting opportunities to physically challenged players, highlight their abilities and promote self-confidence, courage and positive activities through cricket.
The event has once again demonstrated that physical disability cannot become a barrier to an individual’s determination, courage and pursuit of success.
The players, team management and all those who contributed to this remarkable achievement are warmly congratulated on Peshawar’s outstanding victory and qualification for the semi-finals.
