PESHAWAR: District administration Swat Wednesday launched awareness creating programs aiming prevention of fire eruption incidents in forests. The first awareness creating program was held in Pathani area of Swat that among others was attended by officials of Rescue 1122, Wildlife and Forests Department, Swat Levies, Civil Defense and district administration. Reasons and factors behind recent fire incidents in Swat were discussed and participants were informed about preventive measure to stop such happenings. It was told recent fires have not only created serious threats for local population but have also endangered wildlife, cattle and ecosystem. It was told that locals should remain alert and work in collaboration with district administration to avoid such incidents in future.
