LAHORE: Former Wapda chairman Muzammil Hussain appeared before the NAB in Lahore on Monday in a corruption case against him. The anti-graft watchdog asked the former Wapda chairman to appear before the court with a complete record. The NAB received complaints of billions of rupees misappropriation and slow pace of work on the Wapda projects. The bureau was informed about $753 million corruption in Tarbela IV Expansion project. A probe was launched against the ex-Wapda chief for allegedly asking the contractors to make wrong payments. Earlier, Mr Hussain was also summoned by the NAB Lahore but he did not appear before it. However, today he went to the NAB office in Lahore where the bureau sleuths grilled him. Later, talking to the media, Mr Hussain denied charges against him saying they were totally baseless. He expressed his exasperation saying how come a corruption of $753 million was made when the total cost of the project was $750 million. TLTP
