SSP-Operations Lieutenant Commander (retd) Kashif Aftab Abbasi has said that religious leaders have a responsibility to contribute to peaceful society, adding that people in society give high respect to religious scholars and leaders for speaking against the evils of the society.
He made these remarks during his visit to Peshawar city where he inspected security arrangements for various mosques.
SSP-Operations Peshawar sad that scholars should spread awareness campaigns against drugs especially ice during Friday gatherings.
“Security is being made foolproof by re-conducting security audits of mosques, imambargahs and other places of worship for the purpose of construction,” he added.
Kashif Aftab Abbasi after visiting various mosques and imambargahs in the inner city of Peshawar and met with people at Jamia Masjid Mahabat Ali Khan.
SSP Operation Lieutenant Commander (Retd) Kashif Aftab Abbasi on the occasion of his visit reviewed security arrangements regarding Friday prayers and issued special instructions.
SP City Atiq Shah was also present on the occasion.
The SSP Operations also met with clerics and elders, including trustees of mosques and Imambargah, and thanked them for their cooperation with the police and other government agencies.
