Swat rejected PDM alliance in by-election: Faisal Amin Gandapur

The Minister for Local Government, Elections and Rural Development Faisal Amin Gandapur has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate victory in recently Swat by-election has shattered the hopes of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) alliance, adding that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government in the ambit of constitution fully cooperated with Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for holding a transparent and peaceful by elections in the province.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Faisal Amin Gandapur claimed that voters have rejected the ideology of PDM parties in KP and voted PTI despite all negative campaigns by the opposition parties in district Swat.
He said that the KP government fully cooperated with the ECP for holding a transparent and peaceful election; however, reports surfaced during the local body elections in Sindh province were very unfortunate and discredited the reputation of PPP.
Faisal Amin said that the clear victory of PTI candidate Fazal Mulla in Swat was not only the victory of our party chairman Imran Khan’s newcomer but also a proof of the performance of Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.
The people have pronounced its verdict in favor of PTI across the province and the process would be continued till the general elections, he added.
The provincial minister said that more than a dozen parties of PDM had jointly contested and lost the election against PTI in Swat.
The whole nation had seen planned rigging in Sindh’s local body election where the candidates for 1000 local body seats were rigged.
