PESHAWAR: The Khyber Union of Journalists (KhUJ) has strongly condemned the murder of journalist Iftikhar Ahmed in Charsadda district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Mr Iftikhar Ahmed was shot dead by unidentified men in Charsadda on Saturday. In a joint statement issued on Sunday, KhUJ president Nasir Hussain and Vice-president Abdul Basir Qalandir urged the KP government and police to take notice of the incident and ensure security to media people. They demanded immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the incident. In the statement, KHUJ leaders and members of its executive council lamented that journalists across the country were insecure and government had been unable to provide protection to journalists.
