KP’s education minister calls for availability of free textbooks in all schools

The Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahram Khan Tarakai has directed the quarters concerned to ensure availability of free textbooks to government schools in all districts of the province.
He made these remarks while chairing a meeting on free textbooks distribution and review on approval the second shift schools in the province on Friday.
Shahram Khan directed the elementary and secondary education department and textbook board officials to ensure availability of free textbooks in all government schools at all districts of the province before the start of the academic session.
On this occasion, chairman Textbook Board informed the meeting that supply of textbook to government school was underway and government officials of the department were monitoring the delivery of textbooks to schools across the province.
During the meeting the provincial Minister of Education accorded approval to Second Shift Program in 105 schools on the demand of civil society, students and parents of different districts.
He also decided to launch a joint admission campaign in First Shift Schools and Second Shift Schools for the convenience of the people.
The meeting was attended by Education Secretary Mutasim Balla Shah, Special Secretary Khalid Khan, Chairman Textbook Board Arshad Afridi, Additional Secretary Reforms Ashfaq Ahmed and other senior officials of the Education department.
