Girl students outclassed boys in matriculation exams

Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday distributed prizes among the students who secured positions in secondary school certificates in Board of Intermediate and Secondary (BISE) Peshawar examination this year.
Addressing the ceremony held at CM House, Mahmood Khan said that revolutionary steps have been taken in the education sector, adding that the school solarization process has been initiated to resolve the long standing issue of electricity availability to students learning in public sector schools.
CM Mahmood Khan said, “I congratulate the students and their parents who have shown outstanding performance in secondary school certificate exams, I also congratulate the teachers and school administration of the students who have shown outstanding performance.”
CM-KP said that hardworking and intelligent students were the assets of the society and future of the nation, adding that the provincial government wanted to educate all children and provide them with equal opportunities as compared to developed nations.
Mahmood Khan said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has initiated a series of reforms in the education sector as the future of our generation was closely connected with this sector.
“The introduction of the second shift in government schools is an important initiative of our government, better results are coming from the introduction of second shift in government schools, second shift is also being introduced in government colleges, provision of new furniture in government schools and other missing facilities,” he elaborated.
It is to note that the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Peshawar on Wednesday announced the results of secondary school certificate (SSC) annual examinations.
According to the results, a total of 80,044 students appeared in the matriculation examination of 67,246 which were declared successful with the percentage of 84 percent.
In the science group, the girl students outclass boys in the SSC examination.
Faryal Rashid and Munza of the science group stood first by securing first positions securing 1,089 out of 1,100.
Maryam Bibi, Mashal Subhan and Syed Hamad Ali Shah secured second position by obtaining 1,088 marks. Similarly, in the same group Dur-e- Marjan, Zarlakht, Fatima Zarlal and Kanwal Akhtar bagged the third position and got 1,087 marks.
In the humanities group, the girl students also excelled and secured first position.
As per the results, Saira Gill took the first position with 1043 marks, while Hafiza Imama Syed stood second with 1030 marks while Syeda Halima Masood stood third with 1004 marks in the BISE Peshawar matriculation examination.
The ceremony was attended by the students who secured top positions in the matriculation examinations. Government officials, parents and BISE officials were also present on the occasion.
Later on, CM Mahmood Khan awarded prizes among the top position holder students.
