In order to review the traffic management system in the provincial capital, Chief Traffic Officer Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat on Wednesday paid a visit to the University Road.
He inspected the ongoing campaigns of the traffic police launched in Peshawar for traffic system and implementation of traffic rules.
Abbas Majeed Khan Marwat expressed his dissatisfaction over the traffic police performance and not taking action against the violators of no-parking-zones.
He also served show cause notices to the officials while directing the officials to perform their duties honestly.
Strict action will be taken against those who are negligent as per law, he added.
During the visit, the Chief Traffic Officer reviewed the process of removal of black glasses from vehicles using seat belts and helmets by City Traffic Police Peshawar officials and directed the authorities to speed up operations under ongoing campaigns.
Traffic police chief Mr Abbas directed the authorities to take strict action against the violators of the no parking zone and ensure parking in the plazas in all cases.
He further said that due to lack of parking in the plazas, on the one hand, the citizens have to face problems; while on the other hand, it was also a punishable offense under Police Act.
Abbas Majeed has said that all capacities should be used to improve the flow of traffic uninterruptedly and any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in this regard.
He said that the staff of City Traffic Police should implement the traffic rules throughout and continue awareness for the elimination of violations in Peshawar.
