3 govt colleges damaged by flash floods in different districts

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister for higher education Kamran Bangash said on Thursday that three degree colleges have been severely damaged by the recent flash floods in the province.
He shared that Government Post Graduate College Nowshera. , Government Girls Degree College Nowshera and Government Degree College No 3, DI Khan were damaged by the flood, adding that ground floor of Government Post Graduate College Nowshera has been affected by the flood while the flood water has also damaged the ground floor of Government Girls Degree College Nowshera.
The Provincial Minister Kamran Bangash said that the drainage system and boundary wall of Government Degree College No 3 DI Khan were affected by the flood. Due to the flood the boundary walls of 5 colleges were slightly damaged while the boundary wall of Government Degree College Kalachi DI Khan was partially damaged.
The boundary wall of Government Girls Degree College Khan Kohi, Government Degree College Khan Kohi and Marghz has been partially damaged.
Kamran Bangash said that overall, minor damage has been recorded in two other degree colleges including Government Girls Degree College No 1 DI Khan and Government Post Graduate College in Bannu.
He said 22 government degree colleges in the province were being used as shelters for displaced families after the devastated floods in many districts.
Similarly, the provincial government has established relief centers in 10 government degree colleges including in Charsadda, DI Khan, Nowshera, Mansehra and Tank district, he added.
Provincial Minister Kamran Bangash said that teaching and non-teaching staff were active in supporting the district administration during the emergency situation.
He said that the higher education department was committed to initiate restoration of damaged colleges after restoration of normalcy in the province.
