SCCI assures printers and publishers to take up issues with relevant authorities effectively

Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry assured the traders associated with Printers and Publishers sector to resolve their issues by effectively taking up with relevant government institutions.
The assurance was given by SCCI President Junaid Altaf during a meeting with a delegation of Printers and Publishers Association from Jhangi Mohalla Peshawar led by Anjuman Tajran Chairman District Peshawar Shuakat Ali Khan.
Other members of the delegation include President Printing Press Association Zafar Khattak and General Secretary Saleem ur Rehman, Legal Advisor Fakhar Zaman, and Shaukat Ali, Murad Khan, Aqeel Kayani, Umar Shah, Tufail, Amin Khan, Aziz Khan and office bearers and business community attached with printers and publishing sector.
SCCI senior vice president Muhammad Nadeem, and former vice president Javed Akhtar, member of the executive committee Gul Zaman and others were also present in the meeting.
The Jirga apprised the meeting issues of the printing industry, mostly relating to Auqaf department, ignoring local bidders in tenders by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Textbook Board, banned on entry point from heavy vehicles in Qissa Khawani Bazar, electricity load shedding, use of low gram paper in printing of Holy Quran, security, occupant mafia and others.
Meeting raised serious concerns over sale and buying of property/shops of Printing Press owners and ‘Phagari Daar’ in Nadeem Trade Centre and took firm stance that traders will not bow down before any mafia and would go to any extent for shops in the Nadeem Trade Centre and defence of printing press.
Traders said over two decades ago, they had buy shops in Nadeem Trade Centre on ‘Pagri’ (Goodwill) basis now some influential group are terrorizing and intimidation for occupying their shops and display panaflex in the market for sale and buy of the shops, which they termed completely ‘illegal’ and vowed to raise against this occupant mafia.
Anjuman E Tajran chairman district Peshawar Shaukat Ali Khan also spoke on the occasion strongly objected to the illegal occupation of the Nadeem Trade Centre and assured the trading community to take this serious and alarming issue to the police department and relevant authorities.
Later, SCCI President Junaid Altaf addressed the meeting stated that business community has faced with enormous difficulties under the prevailing circumstances and called attempt to occupy the shops in Nadeem Trade Centre is highly condemnable and assured the SCCI will stand with affected traders and the issue will take up relevant quarters in a effective manner.
The chamber president appreciated the police department, especially IGP KP, CCPO, SSP Operation, and other security institutions for their crackdown on the occupying mafia in the city and urged to take timely action against those occupying the printing press in Nadeem Trade Centre.
