Party leaders call on Governor Punjab

Former Provincial Minister Imran Nazir, MPA Sumbul Malik and General Secretary PML-N Women’s Wing Kanwal Pervez called on Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman at Governor House Lahore today. In the meeting, the flood situation in the country and women empowerment were discussed.
Speaking on this occasion, Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that it is our duty to help the flood victims in this difficult time.
He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif himself is visiting the flood affected areas. He said the Prime Minister is making coordinated efforts for the flood victims with all the national institutions, especially NDMA, PDMA, Pakistan Army, provincial governments, district governments, Pakistan Red Crescent and Provincial Red Crescent.
The Governor of Punjab said that the Prime Minister is determined that we will not relax until the complete rehabilitation of the flood victims.
Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that the Governor House of Punjab has also supported the Prime Minister in this great effort so far with the support of philanthropists, adding that more than 100 crore rupees in cash and essential goods has been sent to the flood hit areas of South Punjab.
He said, Insha Allah this effort will continue. He said that this difficult hour is a test for all of us and every one of us should play one’s role in it. He further appealed to the people to play their essential role in collecting relief materials and funds for the flood affectees.
Governor Punjab said that the Vice Chancellors and faculty members of the universities are also directed to collect relief materials and funds for the flood victims. He said that he is also monitoring the flood relief campaign in the universities.
Punjab Governor Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that Muslim League (N) believes in women empowerment . He said most of the universities were established during the regime of PML(N) so that the daughters of the nation could play their role in the development of the country by getting higher education.
Speaking on the occasion, Former Provincial Minister Imran Nazir and MPA Sambal Malik said that it is a good move by the Governor House to send relief goods to the flood victims, adding that they will also contribute to this cause and are standing by the Punjab Governor in this effort.
