England’s former captain and cricket commentator Nasser Hussain on Thursday defended Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan’s batting duo, saying that those who criticized them, didn’t watch cricket during past couple of years.
“If you think Babar and Rizwan have been the problem, you really haven’t been watching the [cricket during] last couple of years,” Nasser tweeted Thursday, as the duo rattled English bowling lineup to chase down a massive 200 runs’ total here at National Stadium Karachi.
Pakistan earlier on Thursday had defeated England in second Twenty20 International match of the seven match series.
The Green Shirts chased down a heavenly target of 200 runs as Babar, Rizwan shined with the bat. Babar Azam smashed a century ton by scoring 110 unbeaten of just 66 balls, while Muhammad Rizwan scored blistering 88 of 51.
Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan have been put under the pump by cricket fraternity for their ‘low scoring rate’ in early powerplay overs. However, the duo is proving its critics wrong by masterful performances, as it gave against England here Thursday night.
