Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday lauded his cabinet member Marriyum Aurangzeb for her what he called ‘graceful and patient’ handling of provoking PTI supporters in London.
On Sunday, videos of the Information minister surfaced on social media – surrounded by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) violent supporters, provoking her and chanting slogans against her party.
However, Marriyum remained calm and apparently enjoyed her coffee at a local shop in United Kingdom (UK), while the PTI supporters, as it is has become a norm, kept chanting slogans against her party leadership.
On Monday, the Prime Minister took to his twitter and appreciated his minister’s calm and composed attitude towards the PTI supporters. “The manner in which Marriyum Aurangzeb dealt with the harassment from the PTI supporters shows her grace,” the prime minister tweeted Monday.
“By her calm and honorable conduct, she exposed the ugly face of the harassers and their promoters. We are proud of her,” he said.
Earlier, Marriyum herself expressed her sadness over the ‘divisiveness and hate’ created by PTI. “Sad to see the toxic impact IK’s politics of hate and divisiveness has had on our brothers and sisters. I stayed and answered each and every question they had,” Marriyum retweeted a journalist’s tweet on Sunday.
“Sadly, they are victims of IK’s propaganda. We will continue our work to counter IK’s toxic politics and bring people together,” she added.
