Poor form, fans’ hooting
LAHORE
Pakistan’s hard-hitting middle order batsman Khushdil Shah reportedly broke into tears at his team’s dressing room after an ugly performance in series deciding fixture against England here on Sunday, local media reported.
Fans chanted “Parchi” loudly as Khushdil walked back to the dressing room after getting out in the final match against England. Khushdil couldn’t perform as per his batting ability in the series, owing to an ugly form. His selection and inclusion in playing eleven has been under constant criticism on social media and mainstream channels.
“I would like to request our fans to avoid such rants at any player as it can badly impact the player’s health and try to support them like you always do, regardless of results. We play for YOU, we play for Pakistan,” tweeted Imam ul Haq, the left arm Pakistan opening batsman.
Cricket website “Cricket Room” reported that Khushdil reportedly cried as he reached dressing room after getting out. “According to reports, Khushdil Shah broke down in the dressing room. Well done Pakistani people for making a grown man cry,” the website tweeted on Sunday.
