PESHAWAR: The provincial government on Friday announced it has formed an apex provincial body, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Universal Health Coverage Policy Board, to oversee the affairs related to the universal health coverage program introduced by the government for the citizens of the province. The government has nominated the provincial health minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra as the chairperson of the board, said a handout. The members of the board includes secretary health department KP and secretary finance department or there is an officer nominated by not less than the rank of additional secretary and director general health service. As per the details, Dr Faisal Sultan, Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital chief executive officer will be member cum secretary of the board. Chairman KP health care commission and health insurance and financial affairs expert Dr Ikram Ghani and retired professor of medicine and public health expert Dr Sabina Aziz were also nominated as the members of the board.
