Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar on Friday clarified that the authorities in United States (US) have taken notice of an unwanted incident at Washington Airport, where Pakistan’s finance minister Ishaq Dar was mistreated by a person, purportedly a PTI supporter.
At his weekly media briefing on Friday, FO Spokesperson quoted a similar incident in Saudi Arabia where the Saudi authorities had taken notice of such incident and had acted against the culprits.
Replying to a question, Asim Akhtar said Foreign Ministry monitors such incidents which take place against ministers and then takes action against them. He said the American authorities were also probing the incident.
Answering a reporter’s question regarding the much hyped diplomatic cipher, FO Spokesperson said Pakistan intended to build strong bilateral relations with all important countries as the cipher’s matter had become ‘old’.
