Int’l researchers lauded KP’s health card Program

The provincial health and finance minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra on Thursday said that an international medical journal ‘The Lancet Regional Health ‘has published an article in its latest publication on the KP’ Sehat Sahulat Program.
He said that the researchers have shed lights over the different aspects of the programm and have termed the initiative as commendable efforts being carried out by the government to facilitate people in the sector of health.
He said that the free medical treatment program of the provincial government has been recognized by the international independent publications, adding that KP’s public health initiatives received global attention.
“The Lancet Regional Health Journal is the world’s leading medical and public health research journal. Most of the world-renowned research papers are published in the journal.
The researchers have published its research paper in the 7th issue of The Lancet Regional Health Southeast Asia,” he added.
Taimue Saleem Jhagra while appreciating the publication maintained that across the world governments did not provide free of cost health facilities but the provincial government achieved this milestone despite limited resources.
The paper’s researchers include Rebecca Foreman, Faiza Anbarin, Syed Shakir Ahmad Shah, Khurram Nasir and others.
The results of the paper state that health cards have achieved achievements that even well-developed countries could not achieve.
In the paper, the health card program has introduced a novel step and best strategy for poverty alleviation.
