PESHAWAR
Agriculture University Peshawar secured victories in Men cricket as Hazara University Mansehra recorded victory against strong Khushal Khan University Karak to reach the semi-final of the Men football event being played at two different venues here on Saturday.
In the cricket event Agriculture University Peshawar registered victory against Haripur University by one wicket. Haripur University made an elegant target of 149 runs for the loss of six wickets. Zeeshan Khan hammered 54 runs and Shabbir made 36 runs at the match played at Islamia College University Cricket ground. The other batsmen of the Haripur University did not score any worthwhile score.
Wali of University of Agriculture University took three wickets, Aqib Rahim, Muhammad Mujeeb and Waseem Ullah got one wicket each.
In reply Agriculture University Peshawar chased the target for the loss of nine wickets with Muhammad Hussain and Waseem Ullah hammered a cracking 45 runs and 41 runs respectively and played a key role in their team success. Wali and Mujeeb were the other high runs contributors. Wali made 23 runs and Mujeeb made 19 runs off just 11 balls.
In the football event Hazara University defeated Khushal Khan University Karak by one goal and qualified for the semi-finals played here at Qayyum Sports Complex Peshawar. Abid scored the only goal on the beautiful pass of right winger Abdul Rehman.
