KPFSA disposes of 500 liters of adulterated milk

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety Authority (KPFSA), in its ongoing drive to check milk supply from Punjab, disposed of 500 liters of adulterated milk near Motorway Toll Plaza in Peshawar on Thursday.
According to the spokesman, the KP Food Safety Authority held a modern mobile food testing laboratory on the entry and exit points of the Toll Plaza.
While checking, the teams tested 50 milk supplier vehicles and found 500-litre milk impure.
The operation was conducted on the direction of Director General KP Food Safety Authority Shahrukh Ali Khan.
A large quantity of defective milk was destroyed and heavy fines were imposed on the suppliers when the milk was found to be adulterated in the mobile food testing laboratory.
Milk was being supplied to Peshawar from different cities.
Shahrukh Ali Khan statement said that there will be no leniency with those who sell adulterated milk, adding that field teams should ensure frequent inspections of milk suppliers and dairy shops in different cities.
He said that the crackdown is being intensified to ensure the supply of quality milk to the citizens.
Apart from Peshawar, operations continued in other cities, a chip manufacturing factory in district Karak was inspected, and the quality of edible oil used was checked.
