Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Malakand division has suspended an additional station house officer of Kanju and Muharars of police stations Saidu Sharif and Kabal.
The RPO has also sent six cops to the quarter guard for negligence in duty.
RPO Sajjad Khan paid surprise late night visits to above-mentioned police stations and examined the record registers during which he found negligence of the police on duty and some major discrepancies. He also inspects cameras installed in the police stations and interacts with suspects in the police lock-ups.
Sajjad Khan issued instructions to police and said that it was the prime responsibility of the police to protect the lives and property of people.
RPO maintained that no negligence would be tolerated, adding that police should perform their duty with utmost dedication and care should be taken of all those who pay visits to police stations.
He urged policemen to give respect to senior citizens while they pay visits to police stations for their complaints.
According to spokesperson RPO Malakand division, Sajjad Khan during his visits also inspected the security arrangements of different police stations and issued necessary instructions to officers concerned.
