Private security guards in headquarter hospital; Landi Kotal gave up their duties in protest against nonpayment of their monthly pay for the last four days.
It is to be mentioned here that in the eve of public –private partnership (PPP) plan of the DHQ,Landi Kotal, services of 34 locals had been hired for the security guards by the private company, namely gasherbrum security services (GSS) for the health center, however according to the affectees only one salary was paid them and payment of the rest four months were still suspended that was injustice to them.
Speaking on the occasion supervisor Minhaj Khan, Masud Khan and others lamented that they executed their duties with honesty and dedication but ironically no payment of their monthly salaries had been paid to them.
With halting of their pays not only multiplied their miseries but also compelled their families on starvation, they opined.
The security guards threatened that until payment of their four months salaries they would not join their duties.
Medical superintendent (MS) DHQ Landi Kotal Dr Jamshed Saeed Sherani was contacted on the issue he said that although they were not regular employees of the health department however he would convey their grievance to the authorities concerned.
When the district senior supervisor of GSS Murad Alam Akhunzada was contacted on the matter he said that complaint of the security guards had been already conveyed to the company although their highup were on the version that lack of financial facility with provincial government, payment of funds had been paid therefore they could pay to their employees.
