Senator Dost Muhammad Mehsud has Submitted a Calling Attention Notice in Senate to demand the Implementation of 4 Percent Quota of Ex-Federally Administered Tribal areas(FATA) in Admission in Medical,Engineering Colleges, Professional universities and Jobs in Federal Departments.
Drawing Attention of Federal Ministers for Education, Health, Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC), President Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC), Senator Dost Muhammad Mehsud, demanded immediate Admissions of Tribal Students, who have successfully Passed the recently held MDCAT Exams, in Medical Colleges and Universities run under PMC .
He lamented this fact that under a deliberate plot and deep seated Conspiracy the Youths of the Ex-Fata are being denied their Due Rights of getting Admissions in professional Medical And Engineering Colleges and Federal Jobs, as per their Constitutionally agreed 4 percent Jobs quota as enshrined in the Unanimously Agreed 1973 Constitution. He warned to move the Superior Judiciary if the Concerned Government Quarters created Road Blocks in the implementation of the 4 percent Ex- Fata Quota.
He elaborated that Fata became the prime Victim of Global and Regional politics- when this Strategic located region along the porous Durand Line was used as a Safe heaven and Launching Pad for furthering the Cause of American Imperialism during the Cold War era to stem the Tide of Russian Communism. Under a deliberate plan- the American Think Tanks exploited the Institution of Islam to legitimise the American Sponsored War against the So- called Russian and the local Afghan Communists. In this regard, Religious Edicts ie Fatwas were issued at the Dictates of CIA -the USA Prime Intelligence Agency, by the So-called Local Religious Brigade, to declare the US Sponsored War as Jehad against the Soviets Communists. This American Sponsored War caused immense destruction in its wake and the Tribesmen were used as a Cannon Fooder .
Furthermore, the US War on Terror in the aftermath of 9/11 ,caused irreparable Humans and Materials losses. More than One Lacs Tribesmen got Killed, besides thousands of injured ,and the Picturesque scenic Fata has been turned into Ghost & Haunted region littered with deadly Mines and UnExploded Ordnance taking lives of innocent Tribesmen on daily basis.
Senator Dost Muhammad Mehsud demanded that the Promises made with the Tribesmen on the eve of merger must be fulfilled like retaining 4% Quota in Education institutions , Federal Departments, 100 Billions Rupees per year for Ten Years for Developing the destroyed infrastructures,Restoration of Ex FATA Seats in both Houses of Parliament.
He expressed his deep anguish and Irony that certain Elements are hell bent to foil the Mainstreaming of Ex FATA under a sinister plan to push the Educated Tribal Youths against the Wall by denying them their Due Rights.
The rising menace of unemployment coupled with the discriminatory policies of the State since merger , is impelling the frustrated Youths to opt for extreme steps, which may not augur well for National cohesion and unity.
It is pertinent to mention that many educated people disappointed with the discriminatory attitude of HEC and PMC are leaving for Afghanistan for admission in Medical & Engineering Colleges. This trend if not stopped may lead to adverse consequences in its wake.
Senator Dost Muhammad Mehsud has hinted that soon Round Table Conference comprising all the relevant quarters from Ex FATA will be held to adopt a Joint Strategy to safeguard the Rights of Tribesmen, who are bring misguided in the name of Change.
He called upon the Nation at large that the country is passing through a critical phase of its existence, which thus necessitates that we should close our ranks in order to foil the conspiracies of the hostile forces in order to put the Country on the Track to progress and development as envisioned by our Forefathers on the eve of independence.
He reaffirmed the Tribesmen unwavering commitment to the Cause of Pakistan as evident from their refusal to join hands with India and Afghanistan on the eve of Independence way back in 1947, despite lucrative offers from them. They stood as selfless Volunteers to protect the porous Durand Boundary and foiled the evil plans of the Hostile powers. These Tribesmen had rendered numerous and memorious sacrifices for the Cause of Kashmir in 1948-49 Indo-Pakistan War, 1965 and 1971 wars.
The State of Pakistan must acknowledge the sacrifices of the Tribesmen by accepting their legitimate Rights in order to remove the sense of frustration and disappointment that has engulfed them in the aftermath of ill-timed merger move.
