Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has criticised Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif for what he called hoodwinking the people of Dera-Ismail Khan , Tank and Lakki Marwat by inaugurating the development projects which had already been launched by the provincial government.
In a statement, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif has said that the people expected the federal government and PM Shahbaz Sharif to announce new projects for them.
He said that rains and flash floods in the last summer have caused widespread destruction in Dera Ismail Khan and Tank and they were desperately waiting to receive the Rs 10 billion financial assistance announced by the PM.
“The Prime Minister himself had announced Rs10 billion for the rehabilitation of flood victims, but the KP government has not received a single penny of the announced amount,” he added and said that the “imported” government has also withheld the development funds of the tribal districts.
Barrister Said said “ Khyber Pakhtunkhwa owes a total of Rs 190 billion to the federal government”.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is actually running the election campaign of JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman in the above-mentioned areas, he alleged.
He said that days of the incumbent federal government are numbered and snap polls would be held very soon, adding that Maulana Fazlur Rehman is using religion cards in politics but would fail in general elections.
The KP government spokesperson maintained that a general election in the country would be held in March next year.
It is pertinent to mention here that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday paid a visit to KP’s southern districts and announced mega projects for DIKhan, Tank and Lakki Marwat districts including Yarik to Saggu CPEC project.
