Distillery raided, cache of liquor recovered

Islamabad: Islamabad capital Police Robbery and Dacoity Unit team raided a distillery in the area of Phulghran police station which led to the recovery of a huge quantity of liquor, a police public relations officer said. He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad capital police has intensified crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime from the city. On a tip off, SSP (Investigation) constituted an RDU team to raid at a distillery in the area of Phulghran police station. This team conducted a successful raid at the distillery and recovered 338 bottles of wine along with empty bottles. Police team also nabbed liquor dealer Shahbaz Masih during the raid while efforts are underway to arrest his other accomplices. Case has been registered against those running this distillery and further investigation is underway. On the instructions of IGP Islamabad, a special campaign is already in progress to make Islamabad a “drug-free” city and strict action is being ensured against those involved in drug pushing activities or using drugs. “We are committed to eliminate the drug menace from the city and no one would be allowed to ruin the future of our young generation” he added.
