Deputy Commissioner Captain (retired) Abdur Rahman on Monday paid a visit to Water and Sanitation Service Company Mardan.
Additional Deputy Commissioner General Syed Shahzeb and Assistant Commissioner Mardan Ayesha were also present on this occasion.
General Manager Engineer Muhammad Khalil Akbar briefed the DC on WSSCM operations and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cities Improvement Project progress.
He was informed that under the KPCIP project a modern Scientific Sanitary Landfill Site and Sewerage treatment plant will be established in Mardan.
The sanitary landfill site has been framed for the efficient management of municipal waste while the sewerage treatment plant will cater the issues related to waste water management.
Under this project the municipal waste will be collected from every household within mardan city and will be reused for other environment friendly purposes.
He said through the Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) project the domestic sewerage connections of six urban union councils will be connected with STP for treatment and reuse for irrigation purposes.
WSSCM collects garbage on door to door basis from Mardan city, while safe drinking water is provided to five thousands consumers in urban Mardan.
He was briefed that in solid waste management the Right to Public Services Commission (RTS) declared WSSCM as a best company in 2021.
Abdur Rahman expressed his satisfaction at the briefing and said that all the available resources will be utilized to provide best sanitation services to the citizens of Mardan.
He said that providing the best service delivery to the citizens is our top priority.
