CCPO orders removal of illegal check-posts on Pak-Afghan highway

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Mohammad Aijaz Khan on Thursday ordered removal of illegal check posts established on Pak-Afghan Highway, saying police would not stop transit trucks crossing the highway without obtaining proper information.
He issued these instructions during a day-long tour to the tribal district Khyber. During his visit, CCPO Peshawar also visited Lindal Kotal police station and inspected the overall performance of the police personnel and checked the record of the station.
Aijaz Khan on this occasion appreciated the performance of the Khyber Police and said that all available resources would be utilised to increase the efficiency of the force in the tribal district.
“Like other districts of the province, various courses have been organized to increase the efficiency of the Khyber Police to further increase the professional capabilities of the force,” he added.
CCPO Peshawar also felicitated SHO Lindi Kotal Akbar Khan and his team for resolving disputes, land issues through jirgas and mutual understanding and announced certificates of appreciation.
Mr Aijaz maintained that respect of the people and elders of the society were important for the police of the district, adding that maintaining law and order situation is the prime responsibility of the police.
