Preparations for int’l congress on livestock, poultry reviewed

The Directorate of Livestock and Dairy Development Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is going to hold a two-day “International Livestock and Poultry Congress” at Peshawar here from March 2 and 3.
This was stated by Director General (DG) Livestock Extension Dr Alamzeb Mohmand while chairing a meeting on Wednesday.
The meeting which was attended by DG Livestock (Research) Dr Ijaz Ahmed , DG Fisheries Dr Khusro Kaleem, President Pakistan Veterinary Medical Association Dr Habibur Rahman and Vice President Pakistan Veterinary Medical Association Dr Sajjad Ahmed Wazir reviewed preparations for the international congress.
Experts from the private sector, ERDA, CERD, UNIDO, KP Board of Investment and Trade , farmer association KP president Asif Awan and experts from Water International also participated in the meeting.
Dr Arshad (President of PVMA Punjab), Dr Sajjad (President of Pakistan Poultry Association), and other experts attended the meeting through video link.
The forum was briefed on the going preparations and arrangements of the Congress.
The participants presented various suggestions to make the Congress a success.
Dr Alamzeb appreciated and expressed his determination that the Department of Livestock will support all private organizations.
He said that the congress will have positive effects on the development of the livestock sector, the welfare of farmers, adding that it will also create new employment opportunities for the professionals associated with the sector.
The forum on this occasion also formed various management committees to make the event successful with the mutual consultation of the participants.
