City Traffic Police on Wednesday organized a seminar on “Awareness of Traffic Rules and Regulation” at Peshawar Model School for Boys-1.
The education team of the traffic police force delivered lectures to students on traffic rules.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Shahzada Umar Abbas Babir, who was chief guest at the seminar, shed lights over the importance of road safety, zebra cross, use and benefits of seat belts and helmets.
A large number of teachers, students and others participated in the awareness seminar.
He said that City Traffic Police education teams were very keen to create awareness among the students of different education institutions of the provincial capital.
While delivering a lecture to the students, the CTO maintained that traffic accidents and casualties could be avoided by using seat belts and helmets during travel.
The education team informed the participants of the seminar that the city traffic police visits different institutions at different times and informs students about traffic rules so that traffic accidents can be reduced and the lives of citizens can be secured.
Umar Abbas Babir urged the students to drive according to the traffic rules with patience while paying special attention to road safety and security.
He said that always fasten the seat belt and drive with respect to other vehicles and avoid using mobile phones while driving.
“Accidents can be controlled only by the implementation of traffic rules,” he added and said that orderly traffic is a reflection of a civilized society, while professional training is the axis to better face any situation.
