Ansari says the police are close to the network of terrorists behind the incident

The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has said the network of terrorists behind the suicide bombing, which claimed the lives of more than 100 people mostly policemen, at the Malik Saad Shaheed Police Lines has been traced and the investigators were very close to resolve the case on the basis of concert evidences.
He claimed that through CCTV footages and other sources, the suicide bomber, who blew himself up during the Zuhr prayers inside the mosque, had been identified, saying the assailant was dressed in a police uniform and managed to sneak in with explosives.
Moazzam Jah Ansari along with CCPO Aijaz Khan addressed a joint press conference in Police Lines Peshawar shared details about the bomber and said “the assailant was dressed in a police uniform and was riding a motorcycle with a helmet and mask on”. Police chief maintained that the chassis number and engine of the motorcycle were examined by the investigators and it emerged that they were fake.
IGP-KP shared with media persons on the occasion that an entire network of the terrorists was behind the deadliest attack, adding the bomber managed to get access to the police lines at 12:36 PM by breaching several checking spots at the gate.
IGKP claimed to have traced the suicide bomber and identified his face.
The attacker pretended to take the bike to the side and reached the police lines and also got information about the mosque, he added and said that the assailant entered from Khyber Road who was wearing mask, saying the head of the suicide bomber found at the scene.
He clarified that speculations of a drone attack were false and that there was no “crater” at the scene of the blast.
Police did not found the identity card of the assailant and that according to the bomb disposal unit’s report, the blast was indeed a suicide bombing.“TNT as well as explosives used for demolishing a building were used by the bomber,” he added.
IGP-KP maintained that most of the deaths occurred owing to roof collapse, adding that the 50 feet hall of the mosque was without pillars and caused heavy damages to human lives.
“The mosque was built 50 years ago while the mosque room was completely closed and was an old hall,” he added.
IG-KP Moazzam Jah Ansari during the press conference lauded the positive role of media persons.
Ansari while speaking on the occasion also shed light over protests of some policemen outside the Peshawar Press Club (PPC) and said “a new storm was created before the province even finished with the burials of the deceased”.
The police force of Pakhtunkhwa is capable of protecting the lives of people and fighting against the terrorists and taking revenge for the unprecedented incident that took place in the Peshawar Police Lines, he asserted.
Moazzam Jah Ansari vowed that all means would be utilized to hunt and bring to justice the perpetrators of the Peshawar Police Lines attack, and the police chief expressed confidence in KP Police’s ability to punish the terrorists.
