Caretaker minister lauds establishment of Defense Centers in NMAs

The caretaker minister for relief, rehabilitation and resettlement department Taj Mohammad Afridi has appreciated the establishment of Civil Defense Centers in Newly Merged Areas (NMAs) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Taj Muhammad Afridi while chairing an introductory meeting regarding the goals, objectives and ongoing projects of the above-mentioned department expressed his pleasure over the formation of the Civil Defense centers at ex-Fata.
Secretary of relief, rehabilitation and resettlement, director general of Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), director general Rescue 1122, director of Civil Defense and other relevant officers attended the meeting.
The chair was informed about the overall objectives of the PDMA, Rescue 1122, Civil Defense and provincial emergency operation center.
The forum was informed that the department has completed a total of 38 developmental projects at a cost of about Rs4 billion.
It was further informed that funds worth Rs 32 billion have been issued so far to the owners of demolished houses under the Citizen Losses Compensation Program in the merged districts while another Rs 47 billion is required in this regard.
Addressing the meeting, Taj Mohammad Afridi issued instructions to the authorities to speed up the steps for timely completion of all ongoing projects.
He also emphasized taking good measures and working together in the best interest of the people through the Department of Relief, Rehabilitation and Resettlement.
