Markaz-e-Tanzeem Tajiran (Zahir Shah Group) took out a protest demonstration and rally against inflation. The participants carried various placards and banners on which slogans such as “Reduce petrol prices”, “No inflation” and other slogans were written.
The rally started from Mardan Chamber to Kachhari Chowk where it took the form of a procession which was led by the President Mardan Chamber of Commerce and Provincial General Secretary Markaz-e-Tanzeem Tajiran Zahir Shah. Along with him, General Secretary Waqar Bacha, Chairman Ghulam Sarwar Saraf and others were also present at the protest.
Addressing the protesters, Zahir Shah said that inflation in the country is increasing day by day no concrete measure are being taken to control the inflation, but the politicians are busy in dragging. Zahir Shah demanded that Inflation, unemployment and illegal load-shedding be controlled in the country. The current government is putting an additional burden on the poor masses by increasing the prices of diesel and petrol by imposing illegal taxes and especially the businessmen.
The government should subsidize the prices of flour, ghee, rice, pulses and other daily commodities, Zahir Shah said that the luxurious living style of the rulers has forced the traders to starve. The rate of inflation is at the highest in the country and reached the neck breaking level while due to the incompetence of the current and former government, the economy of the country is going towards destruction a big storm of inflation has come in the country.
The people and especially the business community are worried. Provincial General Secretary of Markaz-e-Tanzeem Tajiran Zahir Shah and others said that the politicians continued to hold sit-ins for their seats, but the sit-in of the business community will be a sit-in for the country’s economy, survival and integrity.
Zahir Shah has demanded from the current government that the politicians should give relief to the poor people who are oppressed by inflation, measures should be taken on an emergency basis to control inflation and poverty, illegal taxis, electricity load shedding, over-billing otherwise there should be no alternate to come out the streets throughout the province and protests and dharnas will be held in Islamabad.
