KP’s local council board to be modernized, says Sawal Nazir

Caretaker minister for local government, elections and rural development Sawal Nazir Khan has claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa local council board will be developed on modern lines to increase its efficiency and strength, adding that measures would be taken to increase its annual revenue.
He expressed these views while addressing a briefing regarding the local council board, given to him at Local Council Board Hayatabad Peshawar on Wednesday.
Secretary Local Government Zaheer-ul-Islam, Secretary Local Council Board, Additional and Deputy Secretary Local Council Board, DG Local Government and other officers were present on the occasion.
On this occasion, he maintained that a comprehensive strategy is being evolved to make the local council board more efficient and vibrant while no compromise would be made regarding maintaining merit and transparency in the board.
He said the process of accountability would be continued while all lawful steps would be taken to root out corrupt elements from the board .
Sawal Nazir Khan directed the officers of the department to take practical steps to evict occupants from government properties.
He directed to make a website of the local council board wherein the people have an access to all information regarding the department so that the department could facilitate the public regarding its duties and facilities.
