PESHAWAR
An important meeting held here on Wednesday with caretaker minister for housing and prisons Shafiullah Khan in the chair, reviewed progress so far made on the Dir-Motorway project and Barawal-Maidan tunnel. The meeting was attended by the quarters concerned and senior officials of the project.
The forum was briefed regarding the ongoing work on construction work on Brawl to Maidan tunnel and Dir-Motorway project.
The meeting was informed that completion of Brawl to Maidan tunnel, the distance of 72 kilometers between Dir-Upper and Dir Lower will be increased.
A regular survey team will soon visit to the site for carrying out a detailed feasibility survey report and attempts would be made to reduce the distance of the tunnel.
Caretaker Minister Shafiullah Khan directed the relevant authorities to speed up the work on the above-mentioned projects and complete them in their stipulated time frame.
He said that the provincial government has initiated these projects to facilitate the people and increase economic activities in the region.
With the completion of the Brawl Tunnel, the long-standing problem of the people of Dir district will be solved and the people of both the districts will benefit from the best travel facilities.
