PESHAWAR: The inspection team of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority in an operation near Motorway Toll Plaza confiscated 200 litres of adulterated milk and disposed of it. The officials of the authority said that the unhealthy milk containers were being supplied to the provincial capital. They said that action was taken on the instruction of the Director General (DG) Shahrukh Ali, adding that the inspection team checked the milk samples from containers through a mobile laboratory and found the commodity adulterated with unhealthy and hazardous substances. Similarly, during another operation, the food safety team recovered 800 kg of bran and 50 kg of non-food grade color from the spice unit during a surprise raid on the pepper market. DG KPFS&HFA Shah Rukh Ali Khan has said that a comprehensive operation has been launched against those involved in producing and supplying unhealthy food items across the province. He said that no one would be allowed to play with the health of the people, adding that adulteration of food items is not only illegal, but in our religion of Islam, adulteration is strictly prohibited.
