ATC Judge issues non-bailable arrest warrant for Rana Sana

While rejecting plea of Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah seeking exemption from appearance in a case over hurling threat, Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Gujranwala issued non-bailable arrest warrants in the matter directing police to arrest the accused person and produce before the court on March 28.

Khan issued arrest warrants in the case, filed at the Industrial police station against the senior PML-N leader in August 2022 in response to a complaint of PML-Q leader Shahkaz Aslam for issuing life threats to the Punjab chief secretary and his family members.
According to the prosecution story, on August 25, 2022, an FIR was launched against Rana Sanaullah under the Anti-Terrorism Act in the Industrial Area Police Station.
The applicant Shahkaz Aslam recorded his statement against Rana Sanaullah in the FIR saying he blatantly targeted honorable judiciary and government officials.
After a brief hearing of the matter on Tuesday the ATC judge Rana Zahid Iqbal Khan rejected application of Rana Sanaullah seeking exemption from appearance under criminal procedure code and issued his non-bailable arrest warrant.
He also ordered police to arrest Rana and produce him before court on March 28.
