YDA delegation calls on KP Governor

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali has said that the provision of best medical facilities was the prime objective of the provincial government , adding that all available resources would be utilized to ensure free of cost medical facilities to the public in public sector hospitals of the province.
This he said while talking to a 26-member delegation of Young Doctor Association (YDA) led by Dr Asfandiar, Dr Muhammad Siddique, Dr Faisal and Dr Muhammad Ayaz at Governor House Peshawar, says a statement on Wednesday. The delegation informed the KP Governor about treatment facilities for patients in government-run hospitals.
He was apprised about the problems being faced by the doctor’s community under the Medical Teaching Institute (MTI) laws in the hospitals and especially young doctors.
The delegation also raised the voice for the medical students at the colleges about 300 times increase in fees compared to other provinces.
Governor Haji Ghulam Ali said that efforts have been afoot the resolve the problems of the doctor community of permanent basis and providing facilities to the major hospitals of the province including LRH together with the provincial government would be ensured as early as possible.
He said that in order to reduce the burden on all the major hospitals of the province, it is necessary to meet their needs and all the resources will be used for this. He said that the role of the people associated with the medical sector in the society, especially the doctors, is very important. The profession of doctors is to serve the suffering humanity which is a great worship.
All possible measures should be taken to improve the hospitals of the province and ensure the provision of all medical facilities to the patients.
The governor said that through consultation with the provincial government and the relevant authorities, he will once again ensure the provision of medical facilities not only to LRH but also to all major hospitals of the province with the same spirit for the people of the province and restore the public’s trust in government hospitals.
The delegation thanked the Governor for the assurance of solving the problems.
