The Muttahida Talba Makhaz (MTM), a unformed platform of all students organizations in University of Peshawar (UoP), at a press conference here on Monday demanded of the university administration and Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to compensate the heirs of security supervisor, who was killed in an accidental fire a few weeks ago in the premises of the university.
The security supervisor, Saqlain Bangash, died in what police believed to be an accidental fire during an inspection of security measures inside the campus.
However, the police investigation in the case is underway.
Addressing a press conference at Peshawar Press MTM chairman Midrar Ahmad, vice-chairman Ghulam Nabi, general secretary Maaz Ahmed and others expressed grave concerned over the security situation of the university and demanded of the provincial government to take appropriate step for impartial probe into the killing of the security supervisor.
MTM asked the governor and university administration to announce a financial package for the heirs of the slain security supervisor Saqlain Bangash.
They also accused the senior officials of the administration including Vice-Chancellor and Registrar for the current poor security situation in the UoP.
They also threatened a protest demonstration boycott of classes if their demands were not met effectively.
