Dangerous gang involved in snatching valuable things on gun-point from the people Friday arrested in a successful operation of Hayatabad Police Station SHO of Cantt Division Muhammad Ashfaq with his team on Friday.
Briefing the media men about the arrest of dangerous gang exposed in snatching mobile phones, cash, motorcycles and other valuables from citizens walking on the road in Hayatabad, a posh and residential area of Peshawar, SP Cantt Waqas said the Police team made a successful operation by arresting six suspects of the gang involved in street crimes.
Among the arrested alleged accused including Salman, Sajid Shah, Abu Bakr, Fazal Rabi, Asad and Aftab, he said, adding, the series of crackdowns continues under an effective strategy to suppress street crimes.
The dangerous bandit gangs are involved in stealing mobile phones, cash, motorbikes and other items from citizens on the way and in some cases also opened fire by killing the people on the spot as well.
Afghans nationals from neighboring Afghanistan are also included in the dangerous gang, SP Cantt Waqas Rafiq said.
The exposed gang, he said, is involved in scraping stolen motorcycles and selling them as parts as well as supplying stolen mobile phones to Afghanistan. During the initial investigation, the arrested suspects have revealed their involvement in several robberies, he informed.
During the main operation, 36 valuable mobile phones, more than Rs. 0.1 million, and three motorcycles were recovered from the possession of the accused. Weapons used in various incidents were also recovered during the operation, SP Cantt Division Waqas Rafiq.
The real owners of stolen mobile phones and stolen bikes will be traced and handed over to them and more important and sensational revelations are expected from the arrested accused during the investigation, he concluded.
